Client

Frame Optics is a luxury eyewear brand based in Warsaw, selling glasses from brands such as AKONI, Mykita, Linda Farrow, and Oscar Magnuson. They had a non-ecommerce website that served as a digital business card, allowing users to browse products and schedule appointments. They upgraded to a full online store to offer more to their customers and grow their business.

Solution

To meet the needs of Frame Optics, we developed a platform using Medusa. This solution included several key components:

    The Medusa Core: Building a Platform

    To provide Frame Optics with a robust and scalable eCommerce solution, we built the core of the platform using Medusa. Its modular architecture provided the foundation for a customizable and efficient platform tailored to the specific needs of luxury eyewear sales. This choice allowed us to create a flexible backend that offer the potential for future growth.

    Storefront Development Using Next.js Medusa Starter Kit

    For the frontend, we utilized the Next.js Medusa Starter Kit. However, to ensure that the design truly reflected the brand's identity, we worked closely with the client throughout the entire development process. The combination of client-driven design and the flexibility of Next.js ensured that the final product was both visually appealing and highly functional.

    Deployment on Vercel and DigitalOcean

    We deployed the storefront on Vercel, leveraging its powerful hosting capabilities to ensure fast load times and seamless user interactions. The backend, powered by Medusa, was hosted on DigitalOcean, providing a secure environment that could handle increasing traffic as the brand grows.

    Product Migration from WordPress

    Transitioning from the previous WordPress setup, we executed a seamless product migration to the new Medusa-powered platform. This process involved carefully transferring all product data, including descriptions, images, and pricing, to ensure that Frame Optics' inventory was fully integrated into the new system without any disruptions to their business operations.

    Blog Management with WordPress CMS

    While the eCommerce platform now operates on Medusa, Frame Optics' blog and content marketing efforts remain managed through WordPress CMS. The dual setup allows the team to leverage WordPress's familiar interface for content creation. This structure ensures that marketing content is easily managed and updated.

    To enhance customer communication and streamline marketing efforts, we integrated Sendgrid. It allows automatic email notifications, ensuring that customers receive timely updates about their orders, promotional offers, and important reminders.

    To enhance the user experience, we integrated advanced search functionality using Mailchimp. This feature allows customers to quickly find specific products. Additionally, it allows the company to reach customers with personalized recommendations.

    For secure and efficient payment processing, we integrated Stripe. The integration supports various payment methods, catering to a diverse customer base while ensuring that transactions are processed smoothly and securely.

    Appointment scheduling feature allows customers to book consultations, directly through the website, while also providing Frame Optics with valuable insights into their customers preferences.
